Girl Behind the Apron

Hello all! Chances are you’re reading this because you love baking just as I do. So I’ll start off by introducing myself and telling you why I started this.

My name is Amanda. I was born in August of 1990 and I am engaged [and soon to be married] to an incredible man. I live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and trust me, you haven’t ever heard of it unless you are familiar with the Chincoteague Island Pony Swim that takes place every July.

I have always been both artistic and crafty and I have an imagination that I am extremely thankful for. I had taken a total of 8 art classes upon my high school graduation including: photography, art 1, art 2, art 3, college art, ceramics, and two culinary arts classes. I love to bake and I love to photograph things that I bake. I’m currently looking in to freelance food photography and I’m determined to be successful in everything I do.

I also create polymer clay food jewelry, which I have done for about 2-3 years. I have been on hiatus for a bit, but I’m starting to get some pieces together in hopes of creating an etsy shop.

So now you may be wondering, “Why on earth are you creating a blog?” It’s simple, really. I love to read blogs that offer insight into my interests and I was inspired by blogs such as Bake & Destroy and Bakerella to create my own and hopefully offer new ideas to others like they did for me.
